On November 7, 2020, the academic seminar on “cultural identity and national identity of modern China” was held in the Conference Room of Ao’xiang International Conference Center of NPU, which was hosted by the Undergraduate Student AffairsDepartmentof NPU and undertaken by School of Marxism of NPU.More than 50 scholars, postgraduates and doctoral students from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Nanchang University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Northwest University, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an University of Technology, and Northwestern Polytechnical University, participated in the seminar.

The afternoon meeting was held offline.First of all, Professor Zhang Huateng, from School of History and Civilization of Shaanxi Normal University, and Professor Zhang Zhongmin, from Department of History of Fudan University, respectively made keynote reports entitled “From Neutral to Participant: the Chinese Government in the First World War” and “Modern Exposition and National Identity”.

Then, Professor Zhao Lu, from Northwest University, and Professor Wang Yongping, from Northwestern Polytechnical University, gave reports entitled “Group Consciousness and Patriotic Concept of Modern Thinkers” and “Construction Logic of National Significance in the Slogans of Modern Domestic Products” respectively, which were presided over and commented on by Associate Professor Ma Jinling.

Finally, Associate Professor Ma Jinling from School of Marxism of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Zhao Haixia from School of Marxism of NPU, and Kang Xin, Associate Professor of Xi’an University of Technology, respectively shared and exchanged their views on “the Integration of Red Culture Resources in Shaanxi into the Teaching ofOutline of Modern Chinese History”,“the Construction of Mixed Teaching Mode ofOutline of Modern Chinese Historybased on the Concept of Flipped Classroom”, and “the Practice and Innovation Mode ofOutline of Modern Chinese Historyunder the Background of First-rate Undergraduate Course Construction”.

The seminar was famous in participants, rich in content and prominent in theme.Meanwhile, the atmosphere of academic discussion was warm, and the representatives exchanged actively. All the participants and students felt that they have benefited a lot.
