On the afternoon of 29th December, the School of Marxism held its 2023 Annual Meeting in the 207 Lecture Hall of the College Building, all the faculty members and student representatives of the School attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Pu Chuanxin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School.

At the beginning of the meeting, Yang Yunxia, Dean of the School of Marxism, Pu Chuanxin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Yunlong, Vice President, Li Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and He Miao, Vice President to report on their duties in turn, 68 teachers and 2 student representatives on the spot to participate in the evaluation.

Subsequently, Yang Yunxia conveyed the development goals of the university. She conveyed the key work of the university from the overall development of the school, "127" goals, the next development ideas and initiatives, faculty honours and talent growth system and other aspects to the participants. She pointed out that in the new year, the school should focus on the university's key work item by item, all teachers should plan ahead and fully participate in the school's teaching and research, talent training, talent attraction, social services and other work to contribute to the school's high-quality leapfrog development.

Pu Chuanxin presided over the ceremony of Mr Li Yiwen's retirement. All faculty members watched a short film on Li Yiwen's career. He expressed his hope that Li Yiwen would always care about and support the development of the school, always guide and help the young teachers. On behalf of all the teachers, Lu Jie, head of the Department of Ideological and Political Education, expressed his heartfelt admiration and gratitude to Li Yiwen for her dedication to the school's educational cause for 38 years. Li Yiwen said that she would continue to contribute to the development of the school after her retirement. The young teacher of the Department of Ideological and Political Education, Dai Jiawei, and the dean, Yang Yunxia, represented the school to offer flowers to Li Yiwen and present her with a medal of honourable retirement and a gift.

Pu Chuanxin conveyed the spirit of the regular meeting of party secretaries of the university. He pointed out that the university party committee attaches great importance to the development of the School of Marxism, the next four years are a key period for the development of the School, the School should anchor the "127" goal, vigorously strengthen the reform and innovation of the ideological and political theory course, high-level talent team building, Marxist Theory Discipline Construction.

Finally, Pu Chuanxin made a summary of the meeting. He said, looking back to 2023, we fight side by side, unity and struggle; looking forward to 2024, we share the burden and seek common development. In the new year, all the faculty members should further improve their position, enhance their awareness, anchor the school's "127" goal and act in accordance with the trend, and contribute to the wisdom and strength of the School of Marxism for the construction of the school's "double first-class".
